Major Job Responsibilities -Demonstrate and ensure safe working conditions/practices and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage amongst team. -Actively supervise all areas of operations to ensure compliance including sorting, processing, equipment usage, and bailing operations. -Assign duties to workers according to production schedules. -Provide leadership towards meeting company production, financial, and strategic goals and objectives. -Inspect and manage maintenance of all equipment and areas to ensure facilities are properly maintained for efficient production. -Effectively manage (Approx. 20 employees) and lead by example. -Encourage maximum efficiency and productivity amongst employees. -Thorough understanding and willingness to learn all aspects of operation and equipment. -Train, develop, and oversee team including monitoring daily completion of tasks, conducting performance reviews, evaluation, and corrective action as needed. -Maintain positive employee relations and exemplary team morale. -Participate, as needed, in production duties and other duties as assigned. -Actively upkeep employee attendance and production reports. Job Requirements -High school diploma or general education degree (GED) -Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience in the industry -Strong analytical and mechanical skills with attention to detail and comprehensive awareness -Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail -Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills -Team player offering flexibility with can-do attitude -Ability to work long hours on your feet in scrapyard -Basic computer skills -Proactive multi-tasker exhibiting excellent time management in a fast-paced scrapyard environment -Experience operating truck scales and non-ferrous scales -Scrap Dragon Knowledge -Must speak and understand English; Bilingual a plus -5+ years in the scrap business -3+ years supervisory/management experience Physical/Environmental Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. -Must be able to work outside under extreme temperature and weather conditions. (Heat, cold, snow, rain, wet, humid, etc.) while safely moving mechanical parts throughout outdoor conditions. -Physical hazards such as loud noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard. -Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment as needed, must be worn.
