Join Hanover Tavern for a dive into history!
Each year, the Hanover Tavern Foundation hosts a field trip for 4th graders. Normally, we see around 3,000 students from public, private, and home schooled from all over central Virginia.
Due to COVID, we have not been able to do the field trips, so we created a video for teachers to use in the classroom.
We want to share this video with you! So bring the entire family for our version of "Movie Night" to enjoy, and learn a little history!
This is a Free Event!
Reservations are required!
Hanover Tavern Foundation (www.hanovertavern.org) is a non-profit organization which owns and operates the Historic 18th century Hanover Tavern in Hanover County. Listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places, Hanover Tavern is a focal point of the Hanover Courthouse Historic District.
The Foundation mission statement is to preserve, interpret, and utilize Hanover Tavern as an historical, educational, community and cultural resource center for the enjoyment of all. We have saved and restored a nationally significant historic structure and returned it to the central Virginia community as a cultural site offering educational student field trips and in-classroom programs, exhibits, historical tours, musical and theatrical performances, and family-oriented special events. The Tavern offers a full service restaurant and pub, providing lunch and dinner and is also the Hanover home of Virginia Repertory Theatre which performs in our 150 seat Bradley Theater. Hanover Tavern hosts business meetings, weddings, receptions, private parties, and events within the historic building as well as the new E. J. Wade Coach House.
