Together, we will
• talk about what an optimally supportive maternal health experience would look like
• inventory the strengths and resources in our communities and ourselves
• consider what might need to change in our institutions to improve things
• share how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted maternal healthcare in NYC; and
• develop actionable next steps for what healthcare professionals, communities, families, and individuals can do to improve the experiences and outcomes for people giving birth in New York.
These sessions are free and open to the public. Attendees will be entered in a drawing to win one of two $100 gift cards.
If you can’t make it on 6/22, please consider joining a different session.

About this project:
NYAM is working with the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene to hold a series of online conversations about maternal health and birth justice in June and July. Our goal is to develop a model to improve collaboration between patients, families, community organizations, hospitals, and healthcare providers. The main focus of these conversations is to understand the experiences of New Yorkers within the healthcare system so that we can inform current and future efforts to advance reproductive justice and so deem this research.
