Celebrate Pride with Althea Center as Steven Burge shares a message of "Pride, Bravery, and Allyship Through a Bonkers Year!" Join Althea Center for Engaged Spirituality for our Pride Sunday Gathering. All are welcome! When: Sunday, June 27th, 10:30 - 11:45 am MT *Doors will open at 10:15 am & RSVP is appreciated, but not required. Join Althea Center for our Pride Sunday Gathering! We'll have an inspiring message by Steven Burge; music by Darrell Johnson, Christopher Weatherall, and Rick Stanton; and other special guests. All are welcome to join this joyful Sunday! Burge is an actor and educator who landed in Denver following national tours of …And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank and A Christmas Carol. Since making his Colorado debut in 2003 as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Steven has appeared on stages throughout the Denver-Metro area including the Denver Center, the Arvada Center, the Curious Theatre, Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret, and many others. He was the recipient of the Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Solo Performance in Fully Committed at the Aurora Fox (A one-man show in which he portrayed more than 30, different characters), but now Steven is probably most often recognized for his work as God in An Act of God and Reggie (AKA - The Gay Best Friend) in First Date the Musical, both at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. His varied career has yielded him the opportunity to work with Broadway veteran, Ray Roderick; stars of stages and screens, Wesley Taylor (SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, NBC's “Smash”), Christine Elise McCarthy (“Beverly Hills 90210," “Child’s Play 2”); and Emmy Award-winning choreographer, Mandy Moore (“So You Think You Can Dance," “La La Land”). When not performing, Steven works as a Theatre Educator for various programs in the metro- area. He believes that kind artists are the best artists, and approaches his classrooms with a student-focused philosophy of “Kindness First!” Come join us and bathe in the sound and vibration of the Paiste Earth Gong and other sacred sound instruments in a glorious range of vibrational frequencies. When: Sunday, June 27th, 12:30 -1:30 pm, $25 Regular Ticket Price Be immersed into the vibrations and resonance of sound instruments allowing the sound to “wash” over you. These sessions can have a profound effect on many levels of your being and consciousness including the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional as well as facilitating the potential for reaching Theta and Delta states from our waking Beta state. Due to the broad spectrum of frequencies created by these instruments and the resonance created through them, you are able to hear sounds through your ears and also able to sense through your skin and skeletal system. This may even affect your being on a cellular level. This will be an amazing way to rejuvenate your soul! What to bring: Wear comfortable clothing you can relax in.Feel free to bring a yoga mat, blanket, and bolster pillow for personal comfort during the sound meditation.Bring your own water.
