Praying Like a Friend of God: Learning from Abraham

Abraham was the only man identified as "the friend of God." Maybe we could learn from how that friend talked with God! There is just one man in the Old Testament who is identified as the friend of God--Abraham. And throughout his journey with God, Abraham has conversations with Him--Abraham prays. This two-evening intensive will listen in on and learn from Abraham as he talks with God. We'll dip into a number of passages from Genesis and watch as this friend speaks with great Friend. If you'd like to grow in your own life of prayer, what better help could you hope for than to listen in one these two as they converse together?  This intensive will meet in person at Resurrection Church on two consecutive Tuesday evenings, August 10 and 17. We'll begin at 6:30 and run until 8:30 both evenings.  Although Resurrection Church is graciously hosting this class, they are glad to welcome all those who would like to attend. There is no charge to attend this class, but we'd like for you to register so we can plan accordingly.  Every Christian needs opportunities to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus and to deepen his or her understanding of Scripture (2 Peter 3:18). The River is a cooperative ministry venture focused on empowering and encouraging communities of faith through Biblical training, curricula, and mentorship. Through a growing understanding of Scripture, believers will discover a richness of Biblical truth that will supplement their journey in faith, enhance their joy in Jesus, and encourage them in ministry in their respective churches.
