Jesus called His followers to be His "witnesses." But just what does that look like? Acts can help us catch a glimpse of what that means.
Jesus told His followers that they were to be His "witnesses"–they were to go into the whole world and share what Jesus taught them about the breaking in of His kingdom (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:1–8). Many contemporary followers of Jesus understand this commission that has been given to the church, but many have questions about how best to step into Jesus' call.
Rather than proposing a particular program or plan, this class will explore the book of Acts to look at the kind of "witness" evident there. We'll learn to share the "good news" by watching how it was done by the earliest friends and followers of Jesus.
The course will meet two consecutive Tuesday evenings--July 13 and 20--starting each evening at 6:30 pm. This class is being hosted by Resurrection Church in Greer, but is open to any and all who would like to attend. Although there is no charge for this class, we do ask you to register so that we can plan accordingly.
Every Christian needs opportunities to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus and to deepen his or her understanding of Scripture (2 Peter 3:18). The River is a cooperative ministry venture focused on empowering and encouraging communities of faith through Biblical training, curricula, and mentorship. Through a growing understanding of Scripture, believers will discover a richness of Biblical truth that will supplement their journey in faith, enhance their joy in Jesus, and encourage them in ministry in their respective churches.
