Feeding Northeast Florida hosts the Empty Bowls luncheon each year to raise awareness of food insecurity in Northeast Florida.
Feeding Northeast Florida's Empty Bowls is a unique fundraising event where guests join us for a simple meal of bread and soup and receive a handcrafted bowl as a powerful reminder of all the empty bowls in our community.
Historically, this event has drawn attendance of business and community leaders. The luncheon provides an outlet for discussion about hunger in our community among key-decision makers. Our goal is to spark solution-oriented discussion and raise the critical funds to provide food assistance to those struggling with hunger locally through mobile pantry distributions.
In 2019, Empty Bowls raised more than $75,000 in net proceeds to benefit the food bank’s programs. Empty Bowls is scheduled for October 27, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront from 11:30am to 1:00pm. When we work together to address hunger in our community, we are impacting lives and Fulfilling Hope.
