Learn to use a drop spindle to turn alpaca fleece into yarn. Go home with a drop spindle! SPINNING - BEGINNER DROP SPINDLE WHEN: Saturday, August 21, 9am-noon SKILL LEVEL: Art, Craft. Beginner, no experience  AGE: Adults and children 10+ TYPE OF EVENT: Workshop SUPPLIES: All supplies included FEE: $ 25 INSTRUCTOR: Claudia Klaus Minimum 3, Maximum 12 people  Learn to spin on the original spinning “wheel,” the drop spindle. We will be using a simple top whorl drop spindle to spin already prepared alpaca fiber from our very own Arizona grown herd, into lovely, one of a kind yarn. Drop spindles are very portable, economical, and very easy to use. Each participant will take home their very own drop spindle and 2 ounces of alpaca roving that they have turned into luscious yarn. Don’t worry if your yarn has lumps and bumps, we call that designer yarn! Art is about fun, not perfection. All supplies are included in the class price. This includes 2 ounces of alpaca fiber and a drop spindle. I will also bring additional roving and spindles for purchase if anyone would like, but it won’t be necessary for the class.
