Learn to make pulp. Add several dried plant fibers to it to create interest, character and texture. We will be using blenders and plastic & wood moulds. Experiment with different ways to press water out of your sheets.  You'll make sheets on Tuesday and leave them to dry until Thursday.  What to do with your new textured sheets? Admire them, frame them just as they are or incorporate them into other projects such as collage, card-making and bookmarks or for a background for a drawing.  Some colored papers stain when wet, so wear an apron or paint shirt. Everything is included in this class. Have papers or fibers you'd like to use? Bring them along (optional). Things to look for:  Fibers - Any plant material that is now dry –spices, leaf tea (or teabags), dried flowers or leaves from your yard, sawdust, coconut fiber, seeds, and also thread or string of any kind.  Paper - Any type of paper, new or used, with our without print, colored or neutral: Newspapers, comic books, brown paper, brown bags, magazines, copy paper, colored paper, old bills… Old towels – we have enough for this project, but if you ever have old/stained towels you’d like to get rid of, we can always use more. Any size - from dishtowels to beach towels....
