JOB TITLE: Landscape Crew Member JOB NUMBER FLSA Status: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT DIVISION: Vesta Realty LLC GROUP: Residential Property Management REPORTS TO: Maintenance Support Specialist JOB SUMMARY, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, JOB REQUIREMENTS PURPOSE Responsible for efficiently producing quality landscape service that meets or exceeds the standards of Vesta properties. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Prepare trucks for day a. Load gas cans, mowers, and other equipment b. Secure all equipment 2. Perform maintenance on properties a. Mow turf using various mowers. b. Edge grass at curbs and walkways. c. Blow leaves and clippings. d. Prune shrubs and trees as needed and clear debris. e. Pull weeds as needed. f. Clean site and watch for trash, limbs, and rocks. 3. Bed Maintenance a. Prep soil uniformly for flower or groundcover installation. b. Plant material carefully considering depth, size, placement, and spacing. c. Edge beds or establish new bed edges. d. Apply mulch appropriately for the type of material. e. Water material correctly. f. Weeding of beds and sidewalks. 4. Perform maintenance on equipment a. Unload equipment. b. Wash equipment and truck. c. Change blades and oil. d. Clean air filters. e. Grease machines. 5. Support Company projects as assigned a. Expedite landscape projects by carrying materials, sweeping, hosing, cleaning-up and other duties as directed. b. Participate in Company seasonal change projects (i.e., winter to spring, fall to winter conversions; yard and shop clean-up, property repairs, and renovations as needed. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Must have a valid highschool Diploma, HISET certificate, or GED certificate. 2. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license is required. 3. Landscaping experience preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Push and/or pull various tools, products, or items; carry 30 lb. backpack blower on back. 2. Utilize various mowers. 3. Leverage 50 lbs. of a walk behind a mower over curbs. 4. Walk 2 – 10 miles a day; stoop, stand and bend for 10 hours or more a day. 5. Lift branches and limbs; grip and squeeze repeatedly (to prune); utilize hand saw, pruners, etc. 6. Be able to operate various lawn care machinery, including mowers, edgers, and backpack blowers. THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS OF THIS JOB INCLUDE 1. Exposure to outside weather conditions. 2. Exposure to moving mechanical parts. 3. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. 4. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to loud.
