NEW YORK CITY — A volunteer for Eric Adams's mayoral campaign is in critical condition after a vicious stabbing in the Bronx.
The volunteer — a 42-year-old man — was stabbed multiple times Sunday while campaigning on Morris Avenue in the Bronx.
Adams, in a tweet, said the volunteer had been working hard every day for the campaign.
"We pray for him," Adams tweeted. "This violence must stop."

His status atop the pack has only grown as public safety became more of an issue in the city.
The attack occurred about 2:30 p.m. when a man stabbed the volunteer in front of 594 Morris Ave., police said. The man — who was wearing a red bandana, white tank top, camouflage shorts, red sneakers and a black and gray backpack — ran off on Morris Avenue with another man.
The second man had a gray sweater with the word "Privileged" on the front, beige pands and red and white sneakers.
