FRANKLIN, WI— The Thursday night bocce league at Croatian Park is accepting registration from new teams and individuals until July 12, the Franklin Beer Garden said in a Facebook post.
Bocce is a sport where teams or individuals compete by throwing "bocce" balls toward a target, according to the United States Bocce Federation (USBF) rules. Players attempt to get their team's bocce balls closest to the target, USBF rules said.
The Thursday night league at Croatian Park will be yet another of the more relaxed sports leagues that play at the Franklin Beer Garden. The beer garden also hosts a cornhole league among the music, beer and food each Thursday.
This particular league follows the USBF rules but is open to players of all skill levels, the Croatian Park website said. Players will form teams of four that compete in best-of-three matches each Thursday until an eventual playoff tournament.
Individuals can join as a free agent for $50 or teams can sign up to compete against others for a $200 registration fee, according to the Croatian Park website. Participants must be 21 years or older, according to the registration website.
The league will start playing on July 15 at the Franklin Beer Garden in Croatian Park located at 9100 S 76th Street in Franklin.
