Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Kings Park Crash

KINGS PARK, NY - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Kings Park on Sunday afternoon, Suffolk police said. Florent Syla, 26, of Bellmore, was riding a 2018 Yamaha eastbound on Route 25A when he tried to pass a 2011 Toyota that was attempting to make a left turn onto Patiky Street and collided around 4:45 p.m., police said. Syla is being treated for serious physical injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. Neither the driver of the Toyota, who is an 89-year-old South Setauket man, or the passenger in his vehicle, were injured, police said. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
