To anyone that feels that a dog should be “free” in 2021, or “got a dog for $200” in the past, clearly does not have money to support an animal. I bought a fish tank and put $4 fish in it, that does not mean that I can simply throw them in untreated water. Fish are animals and need to be cared for. Stop whining about dogs or specific breeds being too high! Look around, it’s 2021, everything is high. Human food is high period let alone special dog items and food. If you can’t afford the care an animal truly needs or may need do NOT GET an animal. And puppy mills are Never the answer. If you know a breeder has high prices, move it along. Most of the time breeders do not sleep while the puppies are with mom for fear they may be smothered so we are constantly awake. And if you do meet up with a breeder to see a potential pet, don’t treat the dog like it’s yours already. Be gentle and courteous that the breeder took their time to meet you. It’s their baby and if you don’t agree, move it Along. No response necessary. Rant over.
