TUSCALOOSA, AL — The entire Tuscaloosa metro continues to reel from heavy rains and flooding from Tropical Storm Claudette, as focus now turns to problems with the city's water infrastructure. On Sunday, Patch reported that one major leak was suspected on a two-mile stretch along and beneath the Black Warrior River, but another leak identified later in the day in Holt saw the Crescent Ridge Road water tank depleted. Early Sunday evening, Mayor Walt Maddox said the city deployed assets into the area and eventually identified the source of an an 8-inch water line leak. "Our amazing team has isolated the leak and the Crescent Ridge Road Tank is up five feet in the past few minutes," Maddox said on Facebook shortly after 8 p.m. "Water service should be available in the majority of Holt, Alberta & Cottondale areas.
