Job Description Position Overview: We are currently looking for full-time and temporary employees for 2nd shift (3:30pm-12:30pm). In the role of Distribution Center Team Lead, you will need to understand each process activity within the distribution center. You will be responsible to perform system and/or manual tasks to support inbound, inventory and outbound operations such as receiving, sorting, quality assurance, put away, picking, packing, and shipping, as well as providing guidance to team members working in an assigned area. Primary responsibilities include: Maintaining a working knowledge of all distribution center processes and procedures Providing guidance on basic processes and procedures in each process activity Maintaining an expert level of efficiency and knowledge in either Inbound, Inventory or Outbound processes Training of new seasonal team members Supporting seasonal temporary team members Identifying any defects with shipments/orders and communicating issues with the proper channels Maintaining accuracy, quality and meeting or exceeding production metrics while performing tasks Preparing customer orders in functional area (Receiving, Stocking, Picking, Packing, etc.) Using computer systems occasionally to coordinate location transfer and replenishment of inventory Performing housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe environment Fostering a positive, collaborative work culture Complying with all company and distribution center personnel policies and practices as well as all federal, state, and local standards/requirements Other duties as assigned Qualifications, skills, and abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs safely without limitation) Able to read, understand, and speak basic level of English as well as perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, and division Ability to operate manual carts, scanners, and a computer Must be able to work overtime as required Ability to work independently without close supervision Experience/knowledge: 1+ years of experience in a distribution center Prior experience operating material handling equipment (pallet jack, fork lift, etc.) preferred Nebraska Book Company is a long standing Nebraska company with a proud history of satisfying students and book stores around the country.
