Looking to hire for our woodworking shop (entry level). No experience required. Rate: $16.50 - $20 hour depending on experience and proficiency with tasks. Contract/1099 position. Role: To start, the primary role of this person is assisting our finishing operation. This person would work in tandem with our finisher to ensure pieces are brought up to a high standard. Sanding. Wood repair. Resin work. Those are the primary roles of this position, to start. However, this person may also be asked to provide general shop assistance such as helping prepare shipments for delivery, potentially assisting on local installs, assisting in layouts, helping assemble and work on projects, and then general shop maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning up, organizing, being an extra set of hands. etc. No experience necessary. Ideally this person could take on more responsibilities as experience/skill increase. If you have additional experience in woodworking, wood finishing, construction, electrical, machine repair, forklift operation, etc, please mention it. Not required, but it helps Time/Hours: The role of this job to start is to help us sand tops and prepare tops for finish. While it would be nice for someone to have a fixed or regular schedule, I am glad to allow for flexibility, as the job is more about completing tasks than raw hours put in. My assumption is we will have 20-40 hours of work per week to offer. And, as I am here from 6AM until 7pm most nights, I am glad to let someone work whenever they need to between those hours. Requirements: Ability to get to 15th/scott in Covington, Ky for work. Ability to lift over 75#'s. Physically fit. Okay with standing for long periods of time. Self-directed (once trained). Comfortable with asking questions and getting constructive feedback. Good sense of humor. Willingness to learn. Thick skin (this is a working environment) and this is high-end work, the expectations are high and we do provide constructive criticism. In general good health. Close attention to detail.
