Chester is a very handsome cat who is a white, beige, black striped tabby....
THIS IS A LOVEBUG ALERT!
He came to the shelter as a friendly un-neutered stray on June 10 from Plainview Drive in P section of Palm Coast...he is about 6 years old and was someone's pet and he is SO SWEET! His previous owner made this sweet cat an outdoor cat NOT neutered AND so sad, he was tested for FIV on intake and was positive because he either mated with an FIV+ female or was bit/scratched by a FIV+ male!!
Mating and biting is how it is passed by cats and only cats can get FIV (DOES NOT TRANSFER TO PEOPLE) They can live a long and healthy life -it just means they have a weak immune system so do not let him outside to eat squirrels! He is a totally healthy, loving cat...He is a sweet love bug who loves people and sitting next to you for many pets.
He went to live at Petsmart 24/7 on June 19
Please come rescue this guy - FIV cats are sometimes at the shelter longer because people are not sure about adopting a FIV cat. A volunteer in our group has had one for 7 years and her name is Bootsy and she is doing great and she lives with another non-FIV cat Scooter!
Chester is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and the new owner gets a free vet visit upon adoption. Adoption fees is $25
Please visit him -- a gentle family cat with big cheeks. Please visit him at Petsmart, 5270 East Highway 100, Palm Coast, Florida 32164
