Opening Night of the 2020 Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival, featuring four (4) short films and one (1) feature. FEATURE SYNOPSIS: The coming-of-age story of Luis, an undocumented boy in New York City desperate to bring the American Dream back home to Guatemala. Alone, he struggles to work, study, and evade Judy—the Cuban-American ICE agent who patrols his neighborhood. SCREENING DATE: Friday, July 16, 2021 @ 7:00 PM TICKET PRICE: $15.00 (all ages) PRECEDED BY: Sock, Office Song, Little Nations, and The Shot PLEASE NOTE: Session runs from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Shorts program begins at 7:00 PM, followed by a brief intermission, and concludes with the feature film, Five Years North. General admission tickets provide entry to all films in the session. Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival (BWiFF) is a not-for-profit organization based in the greater Chicagoland area. The festival seeks out bold and innovative filmmakers that utilize story elements in a new and exciting way, presenting character-driven independent cinema that is fueled by the filmmaker's passion for the art without large studio support.
