A Wellness Workshop for Black Yogis This offering is specifically for Black yogis of the African diaspora. All experience levels, body types, and gender identities welcome! This interactive workshop is for folks in the Black community who are drawn to Yoga but haven't taken that first step because of fear and alienation felt in mainstream White yoga studios. I will help you overcome those feelings by giving you greater knowledge and confidence. In this Black-centered safe(r) space, we will discuss and dissect what Yoga REALLY is. You will learn how Yoga can fit into your life and drastically improve it. I will teach you the basic tenets of Yoga philosophy and will guide you in step-by-step instruction of some of the most common Yoga poses. You will also learn the power of breath work, how to enter conscious relaxation, and how to make adjustments and use props for your unique body. By the end of this workshop, you will be ready to attend Yoga classes with confidence, and make Yoga an integral part of your wellness! ______________________ IMPORTANT EVENT DETAILS!Registration includes use of all studio props (Yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, and straps) and along with printed take-home materials. Registration is non-refundable.
