These events will be held at A Dogs Way Inn, 761 Pendergrass Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC. The first dog dives at 9 AM. Free admission for spectators. Dock diving is a sport in which dogs are enticed to run the length of a dock and leap as far out into the water as possible. The dogs are motivated to fly after a favorite toy, which is thrown just out of reach to help them keep their momentum and get the longest distance. Anticipating the popularity of dock diving for dogs in the area, Anne Ritchie, founder of A Dogs Way Inlet Flyers, joined North American Diving Dogs (NADD), the official sanctioning organization for the AKC and CKC. Together they scheduled weekend events in 2021. Mark your calendars for March 27 - 28, April 30 – May 2, June 18 – June 20, and July 16 – July 18, 2021. Almost any dog regardless of breed, mix or size can do it if the dog loves the water, knows how to swim, and loves to fetch. If you want your dog to give dock diving a try, contact A Dogs Way Inlet Flyers for more information, email [email protected] .
