We have a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel. We took her in when a friend of the family had a stroke and could no longer care for her. We are unable to give her the time and attention she needs so we agreed to foster her til we found her a permanent home. She is sweet but very skittish. She is fine with other dogs and cats. She does have a few accidents in the house but she is getting better. I was told she spent her whole life in a crate, but here she does not, and we allow her the freedom to go where she pleases and she uses the doggy door to go in and out.
