June 19, 2021
Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, June 19, 2021 at approximately 6:25 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff's Office received a call from a party who had fallen from his bicycle in the area of the Community Ditch Trail and the Dowdy Draw Trail in Boulder County, CO. The 35 year-old male bicyclist from Chicago, Illinois hit a rock which caused him to fall from his mountain bike.
City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks rangers and members of the Mountain View Fire Protection District were able to drive to the injured party, provide first aid, and load him into an ambulance for transport to a Boulder area hospital. The cyclist had sustained non-life threatening injuries from the fall.
The rescue took approximately thirty five minutes.
Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff's Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, the Mountain View Fire Protection District and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
