Press release from the City of St. Louis Park:
June 18, 2021
Bird, a mobility sharing company, has debuted its scooters in St. Louis Park! Riders can pay with cash at CVS Pharmacy, Speedway and Walgreens for Bird credits or pay with prepaid debit cards, and ride without a smartphone.
Bird also offers discounted rides through its Bird Access and Community Pricing programs. To be eligible, you must provide a proof of enrollment in a government support program with a low-income requirement such as SNAP, TANF, WIC, HUD Housing Choice Voucher or LIHEAP. Eligibility for these programs also includes proof of veteran or active military status, or government-issued ID showing age over 65. For more information, call 866.205.2442 or visit www.bird.co.
Scooter users must follow the same traffic laws as bicyclists. Scooters can be used on city or Three Rivers Park District trails, but can't be used on the sidewalk according to state statute. To report unsafe or abandoned scooters, contact Bird at 866.205.2442 or at [email protected]. You can also report unsafe or abandoned scooters at 952.924.2656 or mystlouispark.org.
Mobility sharing is a transportation solution ideal for short-distance, point-to-point trips.
