Description
I am tasked with finding a new home for my Mom's almost two year old cat Al. My Mom is no longer able to keep him due to her own health and aging issues.
Al is named after a family member who is battling cancer. He is a great cat. I would take him in a minute but I have two cats, brothers who were barn cats that must have been abused or terrorized as kittens. I don't think they would react well otherwise Al would come to live with me.
Al is not a typical cat. He's a bit like a dog in that he is very social, greets you at the door, and adjusts easily to new things. It took him 2 or 3 times running the vacuum before he was no longer scared of it. When introduced to another animal he typically walks right up to the dog or other cat. He does not shed like most cats do. My cats are short haired cats but if you pet them down the length of their back a few times you will end up with a chunk of shed hair. You can pet Al the same way with none or almost no hair left in your hand.
Al is alone in an apartment now as my Mom is in a rehab facility. He is lonely with occasional visits from the neighbor and when I come to empty his litterbox every other day. I want to find him a new home but most importantly I want him to be in a good place for him. Al would be a perfect cat for a family or for a child. He has all his claws and I would not consider giving him to someone who would have them removed so younger children may not be best.
Al will be two years old on August 10th. He is up to date on all his health stuff, shots, etc. with his annual appointment in September. He has lots of toys that he loves to play with which will go with him.
If you think that your home might be a good home for Al please text me. I hope to end up with several good candidates to choose his new home from. This is important for my mother as well as for me. Al is a great cat and should have a great home!
