We are back in full swing for our weekly volleyball games 2021. YOU are personally invited to our community Sunday volleyball games. So here is your FREE personal invitation, even if you have NEVER played before. This will be our 21th year running these weekly Sunday volleyball games. We will begin our yearly volleyball games JUNE 27th, 2021 at 10am and open each weekend thereafter. Come join us for a few hours or stay the entire day of volleyball at Centereach Park (off of Hammond Road) in Centereach each Sunday. The park is located off of Nichols Road (exit 62 on the LIE), and just north of Middle Country Road (Route 25). There is a swimming pool and tennis courts in the park as well, we are closer to the tennis court area. There are two gate entrances to the park, one is on Hawkins Road and the other is on Hammond Road, we are on the Hammond Road side(cross street Stonehurst Cir S). We have an average of about 40+ people that showed up each Sunday, we all have a blast week after week. At times we do have over 50 people that show up, as everyone gets to play, as more volleyball areas are set up to accommodate everyone. All we ask is please be of at least the age of 12+ to play. Families with older children are always welcome to join us, but realize that we have some nets set up for the advance and competitive players, therefore not suited for children playing that level, unless you’re that skilled. We always have nets set up for the beginners and immediate level players, where it is more safe, fun, and very casual play. Overall this is a recreational family/friendly event of causal volleyball that has been running for the past 20 years, We do have nets set up for Beginners, Immediate and Advance players, all I ask is of sportsmanship and play safe of whatever area volleyball nets you are playing at. Yes, at times advance players do mingle and play with the beginners, and help coach new players. Set up time is at 10am and by10:30 am we begin our games, which runs till about 1 pm (or much later if anyone wants to stay). At times many players want to stay and play till it gets dark, I am ok with, that but realize that the park closes the gates when it begins to get dark. Around early to mid September we have our annual get together BBQ party at the same location, which over 75 people show up, which is open to EVERYONE for a casual event. A minimum of two or three volleyball nets will be set up side by side at 10am, so we can easily accommodate of about 30+ players that show up early. We also have additional set up of 9 net areas if we know more new people are coming later, so please show up or call, we always accommodate everyone that wants to play, as we never turn anyone away that wants to play for the day. If you show up, you can play, no matter what skill level you are, even if you don't know how to play please join us, as we do teach those that want to learn the sport. This is a decent size park, and the area we play in is located on sand terrain like the beach, so it is much safer than hardwood surfaces if you dive or fall. Plenty of free parking. NEVER A FEE to ever play volleyball with us year after year, as we cater to NO FEE EVER games for fun. If it rains hard all day Sunday, we cancel that Sunday and meet up the following week. As warmer weather arrives each week, and if you plan on playing in the sand without sneakers on, please bring volleyball sandals or some socks as the sand does get somewhat hot if you go barefoot. I do provide ice cold water, music, tables and chairs, and a canopy to run under if you need to cool off a bit.
