Celebrate the 4th of July in style with IMAGINE: NATION, bringing songs of freedom and celebration from around the world, in this unforgettable LIVE sunset concert at Oakland's #1 Waterfront Venue. The root of IMAGINE: NATION is innovative percussion duo WADE PETERSON (S.F. Ballet, Naby Bangoura, Rhythm Cafe) and BOBBY WALLACE (Margareth Menzes, Bonnie Riatt), laying down intoxicating polyrhythms from Brazil, West Africa and the USA. Joining the mix is legendary Malian kora player KARAMO SUSSO (Toumani Diabate, Taj Mahal, Youssou N'Dour), and wildly creative guitarist NICCO TYSON (Samba Guisse, Radio Afro-Funk). Bask in the warmth and harmony of traditional and new music from the USA, Mali and Brazil. This pre-fireworks concert features SONGS OF FREEDOM and CELEBRATION in honor of WORLD UNITY. We made it through a difficult 14 months....together! Kick back, enjoy the sunset and beautiful music and come celebrate with us. With it's spacious open air atmosphere set right on the Oakland waterfront, Rocky's is the ideal place for music lovers who've been holed up all year to make a sweet return to going out. Rocky's Market Brooklyn Basin Restaurant has a delicious full menu of California style cuisine made with fresh ingredients from their market and a delicious selection of wine , beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
