Description

The Bleacher Series: Season Pass includes the months of May, June, and July May 6: Presenting Terence Lester, Founder of Love Beyond Walls Terence Lester is a speaker, activist, author, and thought leader in the realm of systemic poverty. He’s known for nationwide campaigns that bring awareness to issues surrounding homelessness, poverty, and economic inequality. June 3: Presenting the Founders of Monday Night Brewing Monday Night Brewing originally grew out of a small Atlanta Bible study. The founders started brewing beer together on Monday nights back in 2006 as a way to get to know each other better. As they learned more about brewing (and each other), they started making better, more complex beers. Friends, neighbors, and random strangers started joining them in their driveway to brew and commune together. Beer quickly became more than just a weeknight hobby. July 1: Presenting Laura Whitaker, Executive Director of ESP Laura Whitaker, M. Ed., began her relationship with Extra Special People, Inc. by working as a counselor and, subsequently, a leadership team member in 2003. With her passion for enhancing the lives of children with developmental disabilities and her specialized education in this field, Laura was selected as the director after the founder, Martha Wyllie’s sudden passing in 2004. She has found her dream job with ESP (or as she says, her dream job found her!). As Executive Director, Laura uses her leadership and management strengths to manage staff, oversee multiple year-round programs and raise funds to run programs. Plywood is a nonprofit in Atlanta leading a community of startups doing good. Funded by our events and donors, we are able to provide social entrepreneurs, creatives and non-profit leaders with content, curriculum, and community as they launch and sustain.  We exist to help our community make problems go away that impact our culture, the hurting, poor, oppressed and under-resourced people.
