Description

Gain insight an practical tips for working with children who have experienced trauma or other adversity. In this two hour session, Katie will review the impacts that early adversity has on a child's brain, biology, beliefs and behavior and guide caregivers with practical strategies for effectively caring for children and teens from hard places. We will look at case studies of actual children and how trauma responsive care impacted their lives. A time for questions and answers will be provided. Katie Phifer serves as the Children and Family Ministry Coordinator for Harvest Fellowship in Sauk Rapids, MN. Formerly she worked as a Trauma Informed Care Manager at Anna Marie’s Alliance and the Program Manager for the SMART Kids After School program at the Salvation Army. She is a certified Trauma Informed Caregiving trainer for Back 2 Back Ministries.
