Join us for a community day in the park where you will have the chance to trade plants, seeds, clothes, and food! Food Plug and A Green Community invites you, your family, and friends to come out to West Lake Park on Saturday, July 10th for some summertime magic! If you've never been to a "Swap event" before, here's how it works: Bring a houseplant, seeds, and/or article(s) of clothing that no longer suit your needs and exchange/swap for other items attendees bring from their homes, gardens, etc. The only rule is to make sure your plants are healthy and your clothes are gently used and clean. It is also customary that you take no more items home than you bring to the swap. There will also be a craft table set up for all to upcycle jars and containers into your very own planters! Paint, brushes, and mason jars will be supplied but feel free to bring your own containers if you've been meaning to repurpose them, like me. More than plants and clothes, we will be swapping food, potluck style! Make sure to whip up or purchase your favorite dish, drink, or dessert and get ready to EAT! As part of our mission, we encourage folks to eat a plant-based diet but we also are not here to make restrictions. Bring what you can, eat what you want! This event is FREE for all who would like to join. However, PARKING FEES MAY APPLY. Upon entry, let the park ranger know you are looking for "Shelter-3" and they will direct you to us.
