NEW YORK CITY — Two children ended up dodging bullets at close range in a harrowing caught-on-video shooting. The children miraculously weren't hit in the broad-daylight shooting Thursday, but a 24-year-old man — the apparent intended target — suffered gunshot wounds to his legs and back, authorities said. Video provided by NYPD shows the man running away from a masked shooter and into two children. The shooter continues to fire off shots even as the children are entwined with the man, the video shows. NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea appealed to the public for help finding the shooter and another suspect who helped the trigger-happy assailant run away. "OK #Bronx, help your @NYPDDetectives identify the 2 people responsible for this broad daylight shooting on Sheridan Ave that wounded a 24-year-old victim, & put so many others at risk," Shea tweeted. The shooter can be seen on the video wearing all black, a ski mask and dark sunglasses. He ran away to a scooter driven by second suspect, who wore a white baseball cap, a red long-sleeved shirt and dark-colored shorts, authorities said. The victim went to a hospital for his gunshot wounds and was listed in stable condition, authorities said.
