Come dance with us & support a new Detroit spot! Or if you're new, come get a drink, watch, and get a feel for our Detroit tango community. Barda Detroit, a parilla-style restaurant, just opened in Detroit! We're excited that two Argentinians decided to try this venture in our wonderful city, and we want to help them succeed! Wednesday, June 23 they'll open their bar just for us (no food). The 23rd you say? The day after the Pop Up Milonga at The Congregation? Heck yes!! Consider The Congregation on Tuesday your warm up so we impress the Argentinians on Wednesday. : D The milonga will cost nothing extra; all dancing will be on a dance floor set up on the patio outside under the nearly full moon. The space is cozy and quirky, full of character, and there is ample parking in the lot across the street. The length of the patio runs along big windows connecting it to the restaurant, so whether you move in and out to the dance floor or sit inside with your Malbec and watch through the window, you'll be right in the action. The patio is surrounded on the other side with a lovely park and great evening lighting. Invite anyone who you think would enjoy celebrating with us; no need to be a tango dancer. DJ Randy will cultivate the atmosphere for dancing. Expect a P.A.R.T.Y: Tango, Folklore, Salsa, Whatever you want. We’re here for it. We've got lots of space, so get some friends together and plan for a night out! See Less Alex has been teaching Argentine Tango in Detroit for over three years.  She has been dancing tango for ten years, trained in Argentina and later NYC before moving to Detroit.  Her goal is to use dance as a tool for community building and positive social change, teaching both the dance and an appreciation for Argentine Culture.  She also teachs with Randy Fisher, both working to grow tango in Detroit.  Join us...let's have some fun and let's dance!
