EAST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, PA — Officials evacuated staff at a local drug rehabilitation center after a bomb threat said the building would explode at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department officers headed to the Malvern Institute in East Goshen Township after the threat was found written in marker on a dry erase board in a lounge area, a police report said.
Officers evacuated the building and three bomb detection K-9's and their handlers from Chester County Sheriff Department inspected the facility. The Malvern Fire Department was on the scene assisting.
The search determined the building to be safe, a police report said.
Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department Criminal Investigation Division continued the investigation.
Law enforcement alleged after investigating that Taylor Richardson, 26, of Dillsburg, wrote the bomb threat on the dry erase board.
Richardson faces five felony charges, including Terrorism, Threat to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Terroristic Threats, Causing a Serious Pubic Inconvenience, according to Chester County Court records.
He was arraigned and released on $50,000.00 unsecured bail. The investigation remains ongoing.
