Traditional Bluegrass Band?

Description

I am a Guitar Player/Singer looking to start a traditional bluegrass band. Looking for some combo of Banjo, Mandolin, Stand-Up Bass, Fiddle. Starting Influences: Flatts & Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, JD Crowe and The New South, Old and In The Way, etc. I'm not interested in Trampled by Turtles or Lumineer type stuff. What I'm picturing is sticking relatively true to the original songs arrangement-wise - short breaks, harmonies, etc. Traditional Songs. Once we have a repertoire of, say, 30ish tunes we can play really really well - I'm happy to explore new directions if others would like to (new grass, longer looser jams, covers of modern songs, originals, etc.). I just think it's important for a band to establish that foundation. I've been playing guitar for years in other genres - electric and acoustic. I used to play in gigging rock bands and more recently been playing in an acoustic Blues/Jazz Guitar/Harmonica/Trumpet duo. While this is a newish style for me - I'm fairly competent on my instrument and understand how the sound is constructed. Ideally, I would prefer people with some experience playing in a group and/or performing live... I really want to work on harmonies. The goal is to have a local gigging band - breweries, outdoor festivals, etc. I have a PA. I'm interested in the style where everyone plays around one mic and have a decent condenser. All of that is negotiable! :) I'm in my 40s. Have a day job and two small kids. I also have other musical projects. We can practice at my house - inside or outside as long as it's not too late. I like the idea of having regular downtown practices as well. Let me know what you think!
