7 FEMALE RATS- BONDED Madison, East Side Hello, with a heavy heart and a ton of consideration- I have decided it best to rehome my pet rats. I will be very strict on where they go and ask a lot of questions to assure the perfect placement. All seven girls live in a shared cage space, they all are bonded and do not break into fights as they have plenty of space. They each have totally different personalities and bonds with one another- I would love to discuss each one personally, upon finding the correct home for them. I have severe allergies to rats and I break out in bumps everytime I touch them- while being able to handle/mostly manage that I have moved around quite a bit the last few months and I would love to find them a home where they will be given the time and efforts they truly deserve. I will include whatever food and treats are left- they currently eat Oxbow adult mixed with another type of food for variety. - There are two set of two who I would feel comfortable separating if need be, in pairs AS PETS ONLY, but I would ideally like to find them a home all together if possible. They truly are a sweet and quirky bunch! - I have the following items available for purchase: A single Critter Nation cage, used, 2nd level tray in good condition, replacement dig bin for bottom level is brand new and unused. Wheels in good condition. ALSO A SINGLE CAGE COVER, zips over a single level of cage- good condition $170 new, asking $150 for cage + trays OR $165 for cage, trays & cover A double Critter Nation cage, used, dig bin plus shelves in good condition. Wheels in good condition. $275 new, asking $260 for cage, original trays + dig bin OR $400 OBO for all three cages, all trays, dig bins and cage cover (THREE CAGES, CAN ATTACH ALL TOGETHER or two and one) Fleece lining x2 for cage bottoms Multiple sizes of plastic huts (4-5 all together i think) Multiple food bowls, at least 3 Lots of toys, purchased from a local crafter and from store Hammocks and accessories for cage Multiple water bottles Cage cover for single CN TONS of bedding, at least 5-6 bags of paper fluffy bedding Whatever treats and food are left $450 OBO for everything listed, including cages and all supplies - MEET THE RATS: listed in order of adoption (descriptions on color variety to my best guess) {Groups} All seven Fern, Calliope, Reign Aloe, Nessie Piglet, Eeyore Fern: Standard, Beige Hooded Mismarked Rex, Red-Eyed Diluted Calliope: Standard, Beige Hooded, Pink-Eyed Diluted Adopted first and together, Fern and Calliope are the most shy of the group. Reign was added not long after adopting F&C, to help bring out their personalities and comfort in socialization. Both girls have red eyes, Calliope’s look a little less boldly red- my guess being she may be pink-eyed. They get around the cage with no problems, Fern seems to have a slightly harder time seeing- she tends to back away from your hand if she does not see it coming- she very often follows Calliope around the cage and during free-roam time, they have a significant bond. Reign: Standard, Black Hooded Mismarked Being the third addition into the group, she was a huge character breaker. Reign is by far the second heart rat of all my current girls- she allowed my first two to really open up and evolve their own personalities. She is the alpha female of the group and was the only one to nit-pick in the beginning of introductions with the last two additions- she is hugely the mother rat of everyone and is friendly to all. She loves to greet you at the cage doors, climb around while you are feeding or cleaning, etc. One of her favorite things to do is climb up your arms and shoulders while you are hanging out with them- she loves bonding time and you’ll surely learn her shining personality. Aloe: Dumbo, Black Self Nessie: Dumbo, Mink Hairless Adopted together, Aloe and Nessie have had a special bond from the start. Nessie is social with people and other rats but can take a minute to warm up to you- her and Aloe are both huge babies. Aloe is very outgoing and is by far the third most put-going of all the rats. Also one to climb about while the cage is open, Aloe is happy to take a treat or two for her and her sister Nessie to share. Piglet: Dumbo, Blue Hooded Mismarked Eeyore: Dumbo, Russian Blue Irish Rex After a friend of mine had an accidental litter of rats, I fell in love with Piglet- my biggest heart rat of all time. Being the youngest of the bunch, they are very opposite of each other. Piggy is by far the most outgoing rat I have ever owned from a young age- she will climb the bars to greet you at the cage doors, take treats from your hands, and give you dozens of kisses along the way. Eeyore is fairly shy, still learning to come out of her shell- Piglet has hugely helped in doing so. Eeyore will gladly approach you for a quick sniff and a treat snatch n’ grab, she takes a bit to warm up to you but is very sweet and friendly. - Never have I ever had a problem with this group of girls- they do not break into random fights, they are good about sharing food, they LOVE to cuddle puddle in the hammocks and behind their litter tray. I have never once been bitten by ANY of the seven girls- all housed together it is important to understand the stress they can gain, hence the abundance of supplies, variety in food, and cage space. Rehoming my girls took a lot of consideration and I will only ever rehome them given I find the perfect home for them. Together they all have a significant bond and I would ideally love to keep all seven together- granted I know that is a lot to ask, especially given the circumstances, but in the case that I am unable to find a home for them all together I have made a list of those who would do best being rehomed in pairs/groups. There are three in one group and two in the other two groups.
