Description
I am looking to hire out for some random jobs around the house and farm. None of it is very skilled. None of it is glamorous. None of it is probably considered fun. Most of it is relatively easy, some of it is more labor intense. I'm not a slave driver. I'm fairly patient and accommodating. Please read through entire post before inquiring! The good: I pay cash, at end of shift. I only want to work shifts that are 2-4 hours at a time. I don't need work done on a schedule so can accommodate shifts 1-5 days a week (weekdays or weekends). I can provide cold drinks and/or food on request. I can provide transportation if necessary (unpaid time). I don't work in the pouring rain or the blazing heat (this means early AM or evenings after 6 PM are OK). I don't work on short notice (so you have time to plan and/or work other gigs). I provide all tools. I can provide gloves and other sorts of work-related gear as needed. You can listen to music or whatever while you work. You can bring a friend (if they are working; see compensation). You can take breaks as needed (cigarette smoking will be tolerated, outside of course). You can earn tips/bonuses by working efficiently, quickly, and quietly. You can add skills and experience to your resumé and I am happy to provide a reference. The bad: There is actual WORK to be done! I can not stand around chit chatting all shift. Breaks are expected to be infrequent and short duration. Unless I ask specifically for an opinion, I don't need to hear what you have to say about the job particulars or watch you begrudingly complete tasks. I will not provide pics of the work before you decide to come. I will not text endlessly back and forth to schedule something. I neither want a massage nor will be providing one. There is no housing provided, now or in the future. The ugly: You can speak any language, but have to understand enough English to be able to understand directions and carry out tasks to completion. Any age/sex/gender/religion/origin/identity/etc. is fine, but you have to have a certain degree of strength and stamina to finish some projects (for reference, I could do most or all of these things as a teenage girl, by myself). You can not have any type of allergies (unless you are self medicated so that exposure to allergens, such as animals, grass, weeds, mold, etc., is NOT a problem). You can't be afraid of dirt - literally. You can't be put off by trash - literally. You can't have an agenda and you certainly can't ride in on your high horse - trust me, mine is taller (but only about judgmental people). I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT PAY ONE CENT IF YOU STAND AROUND FOR HOURS AND DO NOT ACTUALLY WORK. I will not debate what "work" means, especially after the fact (FYI, you're assigned a task and you don't complete it, you haven't really worked have you?). Finally, you are free to do whatever drugs you want in your regular life, but you will not be able to do this work under the influence of ANYTHING (nicotine and caffeine are the only tolerable exceptions). Again, I do not have time to debate what a drug is and isn't (if it alters your state of being, it's a drug). The work (off the top of my head): Mundane tasks such as moving boxes, stacking boxes, loading boxes into and out of trucks, bagging trash, loading/unloading bagged trash, loading/unloading junk too large for bags/boxes, pressure washing (houses, roofs, driveways, decks), weeding and/or weed eating, operating small blowers, sweeping, digging, using a pick ax, shoveling, planting, dumping wheelbarrows, sawing, carrying stuff, sweating...probably lots of sweating. If you have the strength, there are more complex tasks that involve things like putting up fences (wire, wood, block), and building livestock structures with recycled wood (nailing, screwing, sawing). If you are more skilled and good with directions, there are tasks related to house renovations such as painting, laying linoleum, installing trim. The scene: I supervise. I usually have one regular laborer on site. I need 1-2 more workers to make things go faster (I have a lengthy to-do list and I'd like if finished within 60 days). Work takes place either at a residence or off-site (within 15 miles) at a non-residential acreage (no worries, it's close to a major road and we're not serial killers; you shouldn't be either). Need a little extra cash? Like to help good people who need some help (i.e., your work does make a difference here)? Reliable? Honest? Able to make a commitment and follow through? Great! Please forward your name, best method of communication, a little about yourself (current skills/experience, scheduling availability, anything you absolutely will not do when it comes to work-related tasks, if you have your own transportation, etc.), and a work reference would be extra awesome (but not a deal breaker; I get it).
