We are doing major home remodeling and construction of a 3 car garage with a basement. Lots of landscaping, wood fencing and general site work.
You need to be honest, reliable, have transportation and willing to do the "hard work" along with the easier stuff. We will be building a garage from scratch and a major remodel of a 2 story house. This job includes: demolition, grading and excavating, general labor, cement block work, concrete, framing, decking, roofing, painting, wood fencing, drywall, plumbing and electrical etc. We will do what we can ourselves and will also hire subcontractors for certain trades. I will provide most tools and equipment but your own basic tools would be good to have.
You will work along with the Owner who is a retired General Contractor and cannot do the heavy physical work anymore. If you are motivated and willing, you can learn whatever trades you don't know. This is typical construction so you will get dirty, tired and still laugh at the crazy kind of stuff that always seems to happen. Safety is a priority, you will not do anything that is unsafe or you don't feel safe doing.
To start I need 1 or 2 workers, then maybe 3 or 4. The job will take about 6 months. Maybe we will take on some other projects after that if you help make this project a success. No booze or drugs, smoking is ok, but dispose of your butts in a proper place. I pay for your 2 - 15 minute breaks each day, but lunch is on you.
If you don't enjoy construction and daily working and having fun with others, you won't enjoy this job.
