I'm sure if you lost a pipeline job with no alternative income equal to what you're were making you'd have at minimum a slightly different opinion particularly with no warning or wind down. Biden nor anyone else has made similar high paid jobs available to them. That aside, the very same oil is being shipped by oil tankers about 7,000 miles to China, the biggest polluter in the world, where their refining process is much worse than ours. If you're concerned about the world environment yet don't see a downside to this change then (figuratively speaking-no disrespect intended) wipe the biofuel from your eyes and see the bigger picture. Ethanol is not a solution either, it hurts people and animal life as well as the environment when released as emissions not to mention the land and water it requires to grow and the inflationary affect on our source of food, we don't have an unlimited supply of farmland or water. There is no biofuel that doesn't create it's own set of problems. Oil is used not only for fuel which accounts for 66% of it's use in the US and I assume similar percentages world wide. There's a lot of things we wouldn't have if oil wasn't used in their production. All the alternative energies are impractical as our main energy source for the foreseeable future. It's irrational to harm ourselves and our economy before alternative energies are sustainable and affordable. What you'd like to be and what is truly feasible are not possible. When you can have the change made without severally damaging our lifestyle get back to me because we can't eat, heat, travel or drink theory. Just tell me this, where you're going to get all this water for biofuel growing? You and I see things entirely differently. I do not see shutting down the pipeline as a problem. I see Trump and Obama not embracing green power sooner. This nation should have achieved energy independence years ago by weening itself off of oil altogether. Oil companies have worked very hard to keep us running on fossil fuels. Oil companies have been gouging us on gs prices for decades. We have cleaner fuel. We have homegrown ethanol that is being produced right here in the U.S. that works in our exiting cars. We have been buying gas that contains ethanol for decades. Why haven’t we gone to pure ethanol. It is cheaper, cleaner and creates jobs for farmers. The BIG mistake here was using oil for too many years. Obama was slow to adopt bio fuels. Trump shut down biofuel production in favor of oil. These were big mistakes. Biofuel equals energy independence, stable gas prices, cleaner air and jobs in America. There is NO down side. You would think that a businessman like Trump would have weighed each option. But trump is heavily invested in oil. Therefore, he bolstered his own ingests.
