Howdy! My name is Skylar, and I'm currently the sole songwriter, performer, and frontwoman of a queer punk project I've started up called Atomic Broad. It's primarily queer punk, influenced by bands like the Dog Park Dissidents, Against Me!, GLOSS, The Devouring Mothers, etc, but there's also clear influences of blues, heavy metal, and folk music! I currently play bass and sing/scream in this little project of mine. I've been writing and recording songs for a good while, about an album's worth of music written with more on the way, and I'm planning some livestreamed and in-person shows in the very near future! I have some guitarists lined up, so I'm primarily looking for a drummer. You don't have to be Mike Portnoy, but if you can play a solid beat, play some fast stuff too, and know a good amount of fills, you're good (There's also some double bass stuff on one song)! As long as you can keep a solid tempo, have your own kit, and like playing in a high-energy punk band, you're good! You also need to be at least within 30 minutes of New Orleans! Lastly, this is a punk band. I feel like that shouldn't have to be said, but I'll say it anyway! We don't take kindly to Trumpers, Republicans, conservatives, transphobes, homophobes, racists, xenophobes, and assholes of any kind. If you don't stand for what this band will stand for, then this isn't the gig for you.
