Hello! I want to get started in ceramics at home but I find online information to be largely unhelpful unfortunately. Most posts strongly suggest taking ceramics classes first which I agree with. However, I have a weird work schedule which doesn't work with most classes and one day classes aren't thorough enough for me I think. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: I'm looking for someone who is relatively well versed in ceramics and has access to ceramics equipment such as a kiln or pottery wheel. Due to my work schedule, I am also seeking someone who would be flexible with meeting up at potentially different times a week. I can schedule with you at least a week beforehand and it would be in the late afternoon or early night typically. We can discuss details of payment for your time, instruction, and my use of your equipment! I am willing to buy my own personal sculpting items and clay, but need your instruction on what to purchase. I prefer folks in the Central Phoenix area, but willing to meet anywhere in a 30 minute radius of the area. WHAT I WANT TO LEARN: I specifically want to learn enough to create my own set-up at home and to understand the basics of set-up, hand building, throwing, firing, glazing, etc. IF INTERESTED: Please shoot me an email with your name and any contact info!
