Shoveling out their own path, and consistently wowing audiences and filling concert venues across the land, Diggin Dirt is no ordinary funk and soul band. Their sounds explode off the stage with as much authentic energy as one can handle, and once they have you in their clutches, the relentless dance party does not let up. Their intoxicating and infectious sound is fueled by a blazing horn section, pulsating rhythms, and searing guitars, that when combined into one, have been known to entice even the shyest of wallflowers to start movin and groovin. Behold, as they layer humble influences of psychedelic rock, Motown soul, Afrobeat, and even reggae, atop a sturdy foundation of down and dirty, greasy and grimy, late 60’s inspired funk music. You might have flashes of James Brown or Sly and the Family Stone, Otis Redding or Tower of Power, but make no mistake that you are in the presence of spine-tingling originality. Leading the charge and tying it all together is frontman extraordinaire Zach Alder, a performer like no other; he’s in possession of the pipes, charisma, moves, and natural-born-soul, to launch this ensemble into rarefied air. OBJECT HEAVY: Object Heavy is Northern California’s hardest hitting Soul sensation. While based in Arcata, this cast of musical characters has made waves up and down the North Coast of California, the Pacific Northwest, and various parts of the United States, as well as being voted best band in Humboldt, two out of three years nominated. Fast forward to where Object Heavy has hit the studio, cooked up a new album produced by Kelly Finnigan(Monophonics), showing off their progressive yet soulful sound. This will be released in the coming months of 2021. With powerhouse vocalist Richard Love at the helm, and backed by Brian Swislow(keys), Leo Plummer(gtr), Ian Taylor(bass), Nick Camacho(perc) and Sam Kaplan-Good(drums), the band is fully prepared for whatever’s next, leading into the future in celebration of their new album, “Love & Gravity”. Object Heavy’s magnetic blend of classic Cadillac soul, effortlessly contagious dance grooves, vocal harmonies and blazing musicianship is ripe for a live experience you don’t want to miss! HOLUS BOLUS: Holus Bolus means 'All At Once'. Holus Bolus is one person, multi-instrumentalist Tom Boylan. Based in Crescent City, CA, Holus Bolus has toured extensively throughout the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest for the last 10-odd years building a devoted audience of people who love live music.
