Macro (Close up) Nature Photography with Milton Heiberg Wednesday, July 21, 2021- 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021 - 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. This three-part workshop will be given as two ZOOM classes in your home, with a Saturday field work session at Leu Gardens. The field work will require wearing masks and maintaining social distances. Participants should own a DSLR or MSLR camera. Email three of your favorite photos (any subject) to [email protected] when you sign-up for this workshop. Please include your phone number in this email. Wednesday July 21, 2021—7:00–9:00 PM, Planning session Zoom session: We will discuss the optional equipment that you may or may not already own (close-up attachment lenses, extension rings, macro lens). We will also discuss shooting close-ups of butterflies and other insects with long lenses. Saturday, July 24, 2021—9:00 AM–11:00 PM, Field Photography We will meet at Leu Gardens, and immediately set out to the Butterfly Garden and other niches throughout the grounds. We will cover photography of wildflowers, insects, butterflies, and other small creatures. You will look at small nature subjects from a whole new perspective, and visually study their beauty (in a brand-new light—both literally and figuratively). Wednesday July 28, 2021—7:00–9:00 PM, Show and tell critique session Zoom session: Constructive critique sessions are probably the most valuable experiences for any photographer. This session will also show how to bring your photos to their maximum visual quality using computer pos-processing. Please direct all questions to Milton Heiberg (Instructor).
