Members of the Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library are invited to a reception with Sadeqa Johnson, author of the critically acclaimed novel "The Yellow Wife".
Light refreshments will be provided, and reception attendees will get a chance to meet the author and get books signed!
There is no cost to Friends members, as a benefit of membership.

Registration for general admission is required and begins June 26, 2021.
Sadeqa Johnson is a Chesterfield County resident and author of several previously released romance novels. In 2020, she published “The Yellow Wife,” a historical fiction novel based on the life of Mary Lumpkin, an enslaved woman, married to a white owner of Lumpkin’s Slave Jail. The book is one of O Magazine’s “2021 Most Anticipated Historical Fiction Novels.” Johnson will discuss the inspiration for the novel, her research and the discoveries she made along the way.
