EXPANDING THE VOTE AND ITS IMPACT Where We’ve Been, Where We’re Going, How We Are Going To Get There In celebration of the 101st anniversary of the founding of the League of Women Voters and of the 19th Amendment, the Leagues of Women Voters in San Mateo County present a celebration and panel discussion on Sunday, August 29, 2021 starting at 2pm. A panel of speakers will provide insights into the history of the impact of women’s voting rights on U.S. issues and politics; how expanding the franchise from 3% of those living in the US in 1780 to 68% in 2020 affected politics in the U.S.; and what challenges we can expect in the future.
