Legendary heavyweight champs of Bay Area hip-hop Zion-I, Equipto, San Quinn and True Justice join forces for The Return!
ZION-I: Since the release of the debut album, Mind Over Matter in 2000, Zion I has risen up the ranks of independent hip-hop to solidify their standing as one of the most prolific conscious rap groups of the past 2 decades. Boasting a catalog that consists of over two-dozen albums, EPs, mixtapes and collaborations, Zion I (currently consisting solely of MC/producer Zumbi) continues to create inspired music influenced by social & political woes, personal challenges & triumphs as well as family, spirituality and a raw perspective on the world at large.
EQUIPTO: One of S.F.’s greatest rap lyricists, Ilyich Yasushi Sato — better known as Equipto — has been a mainstay in the scene since the late ‘90s. In 1999, he dropped his first solo album, “Vintage Volume Won,” which became one of the most coveted collector’s items for underground hip hop fans from the Bay Area to Japan. Today, he balances running Solidarity Records, creating his own music, and serving his community through political action.
SAN QUINN: Quinn released his debut studio album, Don't Cross Me, in 1993, aged fifteen. He signed to JT the Bigga Figga's label Get Low Recordz in 1994 and joined the label's group Get Low Playaz. He would go on to release three solo albums on the label, Live n Direct in 1995, The Hustle Continues in 1996 and 4.5.7 Is the Code in 2001, as well as four albums as a member of the Get Low Playaz. In 2002, he left the label and established his own record label Done Deal Entertainment, on which he has released five studio albums. Quinn is a prolific artist and has released twelve solo albums and twelve collaborative albums over his career.
