TN Achieves students can complete their community service requirement by caring for our cultural and natural resources. Attention TN Achieves students! Do you still need community service hours before the July 1st deadline? Consider joining us on Saturday, June 26th from 9AM to 4PM to fulfill your hours! We will spend the morning removing weeds from the Slaughter Pen, and spend the afternoon cleaning headstones in our National Cemetery. This event is for TN Achieves students only. Volunteers must wear long pants and closed toe shoes. We also ask all volunteers to bring a water bottle and sack lunch. Stones River National Battlefield, a unit of the National Park Service, preserves and interprets the landscapes where one of the most important battles of the American Civil War raged from December 31, 1862 through January 2, 1863.
