Join us for the Seventh Annual Sioux Falls Firefighters Association memorial stair climb - Step Up for Heroes! Join us for the Seventh Annual Sioux Falls Firefighters Association memorial stair climb - Step Up for Heroes! We are excited to announce our Keynote Speaker during our opening ceremonies is Retired Army Master Sgt. Cedric King. After surviving a blast from an improvised explosive device on 2012, King Trained and recovered, and within 21 months ran the Boston Marathon on prosthetic blades. His story is only just the beginning as he finds opportunities to encourage and lead millions of us with his inspiration. Community Members, Firefighters, Law Enforcement and Members of the Military from around the region will meet at the Sioux Falls Arena to climb 110 flights of stairs to remember those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center Buildings on 9/11/2001 and the every day heroes in each of your lives. **This is not a race, it is a memorial stair climb where each climber participates at their own speed. The only event of its kind in the region, Step Up for Heroes will mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and will generate tremendous awareness and exposure for our cause, our city, and our private sector partners and supporters. The Sioux Falls Firefighters Association represents over 300 active and retired firefighters and their families. The Step Up for Heroes Challenge Course This course will challenge every type of athlete. With disciplines that will test your strength, power and endurance, those who take on the course will be pushed to their limit. Junior Firefighter Obstacle Course This course is for children aged 12 and under and will be perfect for the junior firefighter in training with very obstacles. Packet Pick Up will take place on Friday, September 10th at the Sioux Falls Arena.
