Sommerfest - A Soccer Fundraiser & Beer and Sausage Pairing Event On Saturday, August 14, 2021, the Zicke Zacke Fussball Club (ZZFC), in conjunction with the German American Societies of San Diego, will be hosting the inaugural SommerFest 2021. This unique event will gather some of the county's best pitmasters and local breweries for a benefit/fundraiser to help build ZZFC a football field at the grounds of the German American Society in El Cajon. San Diego’s own professional soccer club, The San Diego Loyal, will be present with games. prizes and giveaways. Each attendee will get to taste four sausage & beer pairings from Grand Ole BBQ, Cali Comfort BBQ, Coop’s West Texas BBQ, and Valley Farms. Along with the sausage and beer pairings, attendees will also have access to other vendors selling fries, desserts, pickles, pretzels and more. Finally, live music will be on stage with two bands. This event is for all ages. (List of participating vendors may be updated leading up to the event.) WHEN: Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 4pm to 9pm WHERE: German American Societies - 1017 S Mollison Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020 (http://www.germanclubsandiego.org) WHO: ZZFC was founded by a small group of dads connected by their families, a love of Fussball and a connection to Germany. As Fussball players, dads, coaches and fans, this small group of dads came together to create ZZFC with one simple belief - that Fussball could create a stronger community and that community could create better Fussball. ZZFC is starting small but has big ambitions. As part of the German American Societies of San Diego, a 501(c)(3), the club aims to bring together Fussball fans from around San Diego to play, watch the game and have passionate soccer debates over tasty food and beverages. The club is currently building a small turf field for game play, will be hosting game watching parties and has plans to eventually build additional fields and/or futsal courts. ZZFC is inspired by family and has a strong focus on providing youth and families an environment where they can grow and share their love of Fussball. ZZFC doesn’t look to compete with other soccer clubs in the area but rather bring those clubs together to help support our local professional team and help San Diego continue to grow as the home of Fussball in the U.S. Tickets $45 - General Admission (includes four tasting pairings, live music, access to the grounds) $10 - Under 21 (half portions of each of the sausage - NO BEER)
