Learn about the power of storytelling (and performative art) in preserving and building community(IN-PERSON) • Marc Pinate, Producing Artistic Director of Borderlands Theater, will talk about his organization’s “Barrio Stories” project and the role that storytelling has in building community and helping us enact meaningful changes in our barrios/neighborhoods. Pinate and his ensemble are working on a new “Barrio Stories” series dedicated to exploring the stories and memories of Tucson’s Westside. • Josefina Cardenas, Barrio Kroger Lane Resident, will speak about the importance of preserving culture through storytelling. • Gracie Soto, President of Barrio Anita Neighborhood Association, will talk about her community’s experience participating in the “Barrio Stories” project in 2017 THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD IN-PERSON & ON ZOOM ONLY 30 PEOPLE CAN ATTEND IN-PERSON, SO SIGN UP TODAY! PCCLT Cafecito workshops are intended to share information and resources regarding community stability, sustainability, and resources for neighborhood residents.
