Professionally guided mountain bike group ride featuring a bike handling lesson and bike maintenance tip each week!
This series is facilitated by Ozark Bike Guides head coach, Alex Martens. Each week starts with a 20-minute session of learning and practicing a fundamental bike handling skill. Next, the coach leads the group on a trail ride for about 40 minutes. The goal is to immediately use your new skills on real-world singletrack. We finish each ride at the parking lot with a 20-minute off-the-bike tech tip.
Each ride is limited to 12 participants, you must register in advance.
Each weekly ride is $10 per rider. However, they are all FREE for current OORC members. This is intended to encourage riders to join the OORC. They have been working hard to build and care for trails, hold and promote bike events, and generally advocate for the growth of cycling in NWA since 1997, a loooong time before it was the cool thing to do.If you are an OORC member trying to register for free, please reach out to Alex Martens via phone/text (479-644-8893) or email ([email protected]) to receive a discount code.
Week 8, Tuesday, August 24th @ 6:-7:30pm: Kessler Mountain. Precise RATCHETING & a TRACKSTAND will help you pick through rock gardens, sail across skinnies, or stay on the bike while inspecting a feature. For the final tech tip, we’ll give you a timeline for ROUTINE/INTERVAL MAINTENANCE, so you can catch problems before they become expensive repairs.
